Jannan Poppen is a former educator turned writer, travel enabler, yoga enthusiast, and general spreader of beauty. Through writing she encourages travel and empowers others to push themselves beyond their perceived limits. She ultimately seeks to help others recognize their true capabilities, self-confidence, and beauty (of course) but admits that she is still working on this herself. Jannan spends her days writing, doing yoga, hiking, gardening, traveling near and far (mostly near), spending time with her family, and consuming fairly large amounts of tea and coffee. Ileana Brogdon Director of Education
I grew up in Lawrenceville, Georgia, but my family tree spans from Spain all the way to Venezuela. I am a first generation-born American. Cultures, and the people they consist of, are kind of my “thing”. Not self-proclaiming that I am the ‘Anthony Bourdain’ of civilizations, but I love learning about new traditions and upbringings. Beyond my love for people and their way of life, I’ve always felt as though I related best to children. The dream of becoming a teacher became a reality and in the midst of my collegiate career, I married my nascar-loving/NHRA enthusiast fiancee, Phillips Byrd Brogdon III, and became a stepmom to my soccer-star son, Dylan and my first fur baby, Axle the Great, who is a Yorkie! My title of ‘Teacher’ however, has recently taken on a new meaning as my husband and I brought our daughter, Lilly Byrd Brogdon, into this world. Taking time away from the classroom has granted me the opportunity to be a change agent in the See Beautiful movement. I believe the imprint you leave for your future is your responsibility.
